Holiday programme

Player & Purpose Camp

Football is the vehicle. Mentoring is the framework.

Player & Purpose is our flagship school-holiday programme - a three-day camp using football as a vehicle to develop confidence, accountability, leadership and resilience.

About the camp

More than a football camp

The camp runs during school holidays and half terms, open to young people who want to develop on and off the pitch. Young people leave not just having played football, but having grown. Interested in bringing Player & Purpose to your setting? Player & Purpose can also be delivered in partnership with schools, trusts and organisations as a bespoke programme for their young people.

The 3-day journey

How each day works

Day 1

Confidence

We kick off the camp by exploring what confidence really means — on and off the pitch. Young people set personal goals for the three days ahead, then take them straight into football drills and games designed to push them out of their comfort zone in a safe, supportive environment.

  • Morning mentoring circle — setting the tone and personal goals
  • Football drills and skill challenges focused on individual expression
  • End-of-day group recap — what did confidence look like today?
Day 2

Accountability

Day two shifts the focus to accountability — owning your actions, supporting your teammates, and understanding that how you show up matters. Activities are designed to build trust and responsibility within the group, with football as the proving ground.

  • Morning mentoring circle — what does it mean to be accountable?
  • Team-based football games and collaborative challenges
  • End-of-day group recap — moments of accountability from the day
Day 3

Leadership

On the final day we bring it all together under the theme of leadership. Young people are encouraged to lead from the front — in their team, in their community, and in their own lives. The day closes with our awards presentation, celebrating growth across all three days.

  • Morning mentoring circle — what kind of leader do you want to be?
  • Leadership-focused football activities and final tournament
  • Awards presentation — Player of the Camp, Growth & Mindset trophy, and certificates of completion presented by a special guest

Evidencing impact

Measurable outcomes you can report on

Schools, local authorities and multi-academy trusts need to understand not only what support has been delivered, but the difference it has made. Our targeted mentoring programmes incorporate clear baseline measures, ongoing progress monitoring and outcome evaluation - providing meaningful evidence of each young person’s progress.

01

Baseline & Goal Setting

We establish a clear starting point with the young person and relevant professionals, identifying areas of need, strengths and agreed outcomes for the intervention.

02

Progress Monitoring

Mentors record progress throughout the intervention, tracking agreed goals alongside relevant indicators such as engagement, behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and personal development.

03

Review & impact report

At the end of the intervention, progress is reviewed against the original baseline and agreed outcomes, providing schools and commissioners with clear evidence of progress and recommendations for next steps.
